Bürstner

The Bürstner ethos of #wohnfühlen stands out in every model in the range. Step inside any of the new Bürstner motorhomes and campervans at the Motorhome & Caravan Show and you’ll immediately appreciate the inimitable style, comfort and creativity that is synonymous with Bürstner.

New models to watch out for – and certainly set to wow! - are the Lyseo M T 660 Harmony Line and T 690 G Harmony Line, two brand new Mercedes-based motorhomes. The Lyseo M Harmony Line is the new star of the Bürstner living world. Classic Bürstner design, living room-oriented interior design and proven Mercedes vehicle technology - that's #living on a new level. Lyseo M models are compact yet boast intelligent use of space and are lavishly appointed with all home comforts.

The Lyseo M is a compact vehicle (less than 7m), which is available in both manual and automatic transmission. The elevated-frame chassis with Tenorite Grey metallic paintwork offers rear-wheel-drive and one-level flooring.

The Lyseo M delivers proven Mercedes technology with many extras and assistance systems – including Crosswind Assist, Main Beam Assist, Active Braking Assist, Hill Start Assist and more. Its striking rear end with the redesigned Bürstner hybrid rear lights marks the Lyseo M as iconic Bürstner!

Carado

Carado style is simple and elegant. Ergonomic design, with practical and useful features, beautifully presented with harmonious furnishings, timeless colour palette and tactile textures – a true home-from-home.

Carado also offers exceptional choice and exceptional value for money. Choose from: integrated A-Class; a variety of semi-integrated Coachbuilt models, including overcab-bed style ‘Alcove’ and the compact ‘Van’; plus the VLOW Campervan range.

The ‘Van’ range – available in V 132 and V 337 layouts – is new this year. But what’s so special about the van? Well it’s something of a cross between a motorhome and a camper van. Measuring just 2.14 metres across, it’s narrow and compact like the semi-integrated models, which makes it perfect for manoeuvring down even the tightest of streets. Yet in spite of its dimensions, there’s no compromising on its sense of space, as the new design of the wall units in these models creates that all-important roomy feel.

Carado now boasts two new models with an identical internal floor plan in the semi-integrated and integrated vehicle series – the T338 and the I338. Under seven metres long, both 338 models feature two single beds measuring 1.90 m and 2 m respectively. Comfortable and compact at the same time – this design makes no compromises. Even the rear storage space is large and spacious. An additional overcab bed comes as standard on the I 338 and as an option on the T 338.

Updates to the Carado VLOW Campervan range this year include: two ISOFIX points as standard, double USB connection and new GOODSIDE slats on beds, which offer a whole host of benefits: despite being robust and capable of withstanding extremely heavy loads, their lightweight design is really rather remarkable. What’s more, their easy-clean finish makes them incredibly low-maintenance.

Have fun comparing and contrasting Carado models on the Erwin Hymer Group stand in Hall 20 to see which best suits you!

With a heritage spanning back to 1957, Eriba is the go-to name for cult caravans. These caravans not only look super-cool, but are built with the latest innovation and technology – creating models that are robust, winterproof and secure.

Launched last year, the Eriba Troll 530 Rockabilly and Ocean Drive continue to thrill and will both take pride of place at the Motorhome and Caravan show. Inspired by the 1950s, these caravans add splash of colour and fun. Not only do they offer the proven advantages and attributes that customers are entitled to expect from the Eriba Troll – such as the unique design principle based on aircraft engineering, which makes the Touring especially aerodynamic and ensures much improved driving safety and optimal roadholding characteristics – the two Touring special models also come with comprehensive standard equipment, making the caravans even more comfortable and especially stylish.

Also at NEC will be one of the distinctive new 60th Edition models: the Touring 60th Edition 542. The anniversary model of the Eriba Touring “60 Edition” features distinctive, two-colour paintwork, which is the absolute highlight of this special model. Hymer

One of the best known names in the world of Motorhomes, Hymer never disappoints with its spectacular display at the Motorhome and Caravan Show, which truly showcases the sheer choice and variety of motorhomes and campervans bearing the Hymer brand!

Hymer Campervans at the show include exciting and popular models and layouts, including: Hymer Free 540; Hymer Free 600 Campus; Hymer Ayers Rock (with pop-top); Hymer Yosemite (with pop-top) – all built on Fiat; and DuoCar S and Hymer Free S 600 (with pop-top) – both built on the Mercedes Benz chassis.

The Hymer DuoCar S will be a stand-out model at NEC. Launched 3 years ago as a concept vehicle, this spectacular motorhome is now going into production and will be available at Retailers by the end of 2019. This is a distictive and powerful campervan with all-round glazing.

The dynamic 143 hp engine makes the new campervan a force to be reckoned with on the road. The required level of safety is ensured by the numerous assistance systems, such as Crosswind and Active Brake Assist, as well as DISTRONIC Active Distance Assist. The keyless start and automatic headlights also make driving a more comfortable experience. When it comes to the exterior, the DuoCar S boasts a clear-cut design. From outside, the all-round glazing is particularly eye-catching. This ensures that there is far more daylight in the interior, whilst the tinted panes of glass provide sufficient privacy.

The Hymer DuoCar S is also the perfect companion for adventures off the beaten track. This is ensured by the self-sufficiency concept featuring a diesel heater, a large 93-litre fuel tank and the optional Hymer Smart-Battery-System. This innovative energy system combines the superb performance of lithium batteries with the low costs of conventional lead batteries. The system stores the energy in both batteries in parallel, and the charge status is controlled in an intelligent way. This increases efficiency and makes you self-sufficient for a much longer period of time – up to 9.6 days at the typical rate of use.

Models from the Exsis range include the low-line Exsis-t 374 and A-Class Exsis-I 474 and Exsis-I 580. The low-line Exsis-t 374 is the smallest and lightest of the lightweight coachbuilt range, with classic and harmonious Hymer style, homely specification and reassuring build – all at a very reasonable price! The A-Class Exsis range boasts all of these Hymer qualities in a larger, ‘integrated’ vehicle. The Exsis-I 474 is the smallest of the A-Class range, whilst still offering living and sleeping comfort for 4.

The new Exsis-I 580 is possibly the most compact way to experience a genuine HYMER. Thanks to its uncompromising lightweight construction, the Exsis is Hymer’s flagship in the 3.5-ton class. The new Exsis also stands out for its brand-new interior concept. Its furniture and fittings in light colours and flowing lines create an especially spacious feel. That makes the model a perfect embodiment of the new Hymer design language – see it first at the Motorhome and Caravan Show!

T-Class S 685 and 695 are both built on the proven and technologically superior Mercedes Benz chassis, raising the quality standard for first-time motorhome owners to a higher level. The bodywork of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with front-wheel drive and original frame has a marked impact on payload reserves and headroom, while numerous driver assistance systems are also included on board. The interior of the new Hymer T-Class S boasts a cosy ambience with modern designer touches that are typical of Hymer, a smart lighting concept, as well as a particularly generous feeling of space. The height-adjustable queen-size bed measuring up to 1.95 by 1.50 metres is the highlight of the new HYMER T-Class S 695 layout.

with an extensive equipment pack included as standard The Hymer B-Class ModernComfort T-Class range will be represented by the B-MC T 580 and B-MC T 690 with Pull-down bed – both built on Mercedes Benz with Sprinter chassis cowl and award-winning SLC chassis and providing a superior and luxurious level of specification, inside and out. Innovation abounds, and clever practicalities, such as the large 180-l fresh water tank and a 150-l waste water tank — even in vehicles under 7 m in length, giving even greater freedom and self-sufficiency.

The Hymer B-Class ModernComfort I-Class range offer the same benefits as the T-Class, in a fully integrated A-Class range. Not only is this the world’s first motorhome to combine the new Sprinter chassis cowl with the award-winning SLC chassis, but these are the very first integrated motorhomes up to 6.99 m in length with a mass in running order under 3 tons! Models at the Motorhome and Caravan Show include: B-MC I 600 White Line and B-MC I 680.

The Hymermobil B-Class SupremeLine lets you experience the future of motorhoming today, by combining the best of everything. It’s a unique chassis that makes the new B-Class SupremeLine simply exceptional in a number of ways. The higher-level, heated double floor with thermal compartments offers more storage space, and thanks to the practical through-loading compartment, you can easily stow longer items. The chassis also provides much more loading space in the rear garage. The heating system is also integrated in the double floor. That comes with a range of advantages: it is very quiet and also heats the fresh water and waste water tanks. What’s more, the excellent insulation of the SLC chassis protects all compartments and tanks from extreme temperatures. See the B SL 704 and the B-ML 790 at the show!

Stay at home Brits boost popularity of motorhomes and touring caravans

As many are turning their backs on expensive overseas holidays and instead choosing to holiday at home using a leisure vehicle, the multi-billion-pound industry gears up for its biggest indoor event of the year.  Recent research and the number of exhibitors and visitors expected to attend the Motorhome & Caravan Show, highlight the underlying buoyancy of the sector.

Data held by UK Caravan and Camping Alliance (UKCCA) reveals that 39% of UK adults have taken a camping or caravanning holiday since 2016*, contributing almost £5bn GVA to the rural economy every year. Another recent study (by Safeguard Insurance)** has identified the UK as Europe’s number one hotspot for caravanners and motorhomers. Next month, from 15-20 October, the National Caravan Council’s (NCC) Motorhome & Caravan Show at the National Exhibition Centre will bring together nearly 400 exhibitors for the UK’s largest display of motorhomes, touring caravans, campervans, trailer tents, caravan holiday homes and lodges and accessories. As UK holidaymakers continue to favour domestic destinations, firms will reveal their new product line up for 2020 to almost 100,000 visitors.

John Lally of NCC Events, comments: “There is now more choice than ever for motorhome and caravan enthusiasts, both in terms of the breadth and depth of products and services on the market, and the range of budgets for which those cater. There are some really exciting developments in the pipeline for 2020 and despite the challenging economic context in which we are all operating, these will reinforce the progressive and dynamic nature of our sector at the moment. We’re bringing all of the big stories together at the Motorhome & Caravan Show next month – it’s set to be a very special event.”

Simon McGrath, head of communications at the Camping & Caravanning Club, comments: “Caravanning, motorhoming and camping are proving to be as popular as ever with more and more people discovering that they are a fantastic way to holiday, and make for a very enjoyable lifestyle too. Importantly, the industry continues to innovate by developing new products – once again, the Motorhome & Caravan Show will be the ideal place to see the latest trends and next year’s products.”

Harvey Alexander, director of marketing at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, adds: “Caravan and Motorhome Club members spend around £420m each year in the rural tourism economy in the UK – this is money spent on eating out, shopping and visitor attractions. Be inspired at the

MOTORHOME AND CARAVAN SHOW 2019

The UK’s biggest leisure vehicle show

The Motorhome & Caravan Show prides its self on being the event brands chose to showcase their new and exciting leisure vehicles and related products to the UK market. This year we have a host of manufacturers showing off their products, here are just four of the new vehicles to see at the 2019 show.

Rolling Homes have developed a special edition 4x4 off-road camper van. While there are numerous off-road look-a-like campers out there not many are actually able to perform in off-road terrain like this vehicle will. Rolling Homes took the new VW T6 150 PS 4 Motion (4x4) SWB and then fitted it with full off-road suspension, raised the van by 100mm, fitted full under protection, a differential lock, replaced the standard wheels with prototype wheels and off-road tyres, attached super-bright laser lights and prototype carbon fibre race seats from Cobra. From a camper van perspective, you will find all the usual fixtures and fittings; cupboards, fridge, dual ring gas burners, sink with working tap, heater and a pop-up roof. However, Rolling Homes have also fitted the van with a fully rated sliding bed/seat system so you can easily adjust the seating position and accommodate for extra storage. And after a weekend off-roading, the inside of the van can easily be cleaned thanks to the easy wipe fully rubberised floor and sides.

To see this incredible camper van and others in the range visit Rolling Homes at stand 12.82.

RP Motorhomes will be showcasing the BeauEr’s 3X model, this unique telescopic caravan works on one basic principle: small enough to be easily towed on the road, yet big enough to provide every day comfort. Once parked up, this small capsule of 4m 2 converts into a large 12m 2 space.

To achieve this the 3X utilises three identically shaped sections that slot perfectly together and combine this with electric actuators to effortlessly push/pull the modules into place. All the furniture and fittings are contained within the caravan and are easily unfolded in 60 seconds, so you can quickly get away and start your adventures.

The Discovery has its own exclusive range of PRIMA accessories that are all designed to enhance your adventures. This includes a unique wrap-around L-shaped air awning that attaches perfectly to the caravans curved bodyshell.  When fitted, the Discovery air awning gives you so much more additional space to relax, eat, store and even sleep outside thanks to the optional two-person sleeping tent compartment. When erected by either the electric or hand pump the shelter provides a footprint of 13.8m 2 – 17.6m 2, depending on the Discovery model.

Well for those unable to attend the NEC hare's a taster of what's been going on.

Tuesday saw Mark Beaumont demonstrating his ability to tow a Freedom caravan behind his cycle.

Then later Rowland Rivron introduced him to those attending the NEC when Mark went on to describe some of his exploits over the years, including two round the world trips on his bicycle, the latest one being in 78 days following the fictitious trip by Phileas Fogg in the 1873 Jules Verne novel "Round the world in eighty days".

For those looking for something a little different, you may be interested in Bailey's new Discovery caravan. It is built on the now familiar Alu-Tec framework but has a plastic outer skin that is wrapped around the frame to provide radius to the rear corners, allowing the fitting of a wrap around inflatable framed awning designed specifically to fit the rear of the caravan.

Worth noting too is the longer A-Frame on offer that allows for a cycle rack or storage locker to be fitted to this Bailey.
