Motorhome owners: This is your life

Recommended Posts

Club Care Insurance, the insurance arm of The Camping and Caravanning Club, has recently conducted a survey of over 5,000 motorhome owners to find out more about their lifestyle, in particular looking at their travel, vehicle and purchasing preferences.

The survey, which was distributed to members of The Camping and Caravanning Club, returned some extremely interesting results, starting with the travel preferences of motorhome owners in the UK.

One of the greatest benefits of owning a motorhome is the freedom to travel and when it comes to UK holidays, according to motorhomers, the Scottish Highlands is the place to be! With 21.5% of the vote, it beat all the competition hands down, a figure that was much appreciated by the Regional Partnerships Director for Visit Scotland, Scott Armstrong, who said:

“To be such a clear favourite amongst motorhome owners is wonderful news for the Highlands. With its ancient landscapes and fascinating history, the region is an incredible destination for any holiday.”

The Club Care Insurance survey of motorhome owners also revealed that manufacturer, AutoSleeper, demonstrated the best consumer loyalty. The most popular motorhome amongst owners completing this survey is AutoSleeper (12.5%) and all of these respondents and more advised Club Care Insurance that they are likely to buy an AutoSleeper next time (13.3%).

Andy Brand, Group Marketing Director at AutoSleeper, said of the survey: "AutoSleeper has a long standing pedigree, stretching back over 54 years, for building iconic motorhomes featuring the ultimate class leading specification so we are absolutely delighted to see that the results from the Club Care survey reflect the aspirational appeal of owning an AutoSleeper motorhome, both to existing and new customers alike, which is great news and bodes well for a continued bright future ahead."

Perhaps the most interesting findings from the survey were related to the purchase preferences of motorhome owners, as the insurance provider found that 53% of motorhome owners will purchase their next motorhome from a local dealer, and 45% will opt for a preowned

model as opposed to purchasing from new or being currently undecided.

Nigel Coppen, Client Director at Club Care Insurance, said “We are naturally delighted by the wonderful engagement from members to our survey. This clearly demonstrates the passion motorhome owners have to travel around Britain to see and enjoy the spectacular sights on offer in the comfort of their own surroundings. The outcomes are both compelling and insightful and will assist us in ensuring we offer the appropriate insurance cover when the time comes”.

Well, Suzi Savannah has arrived!  No, not the porn star but the wine wagon! ;)

Staying overnight at the dealers, who were very good at the handover with a few bits and pieces being fixed while we waited, and then off home tomorrow. :)

A week or so later and we're off on first trip to .......  eh who knows yet! :D

Hi Dave

The bank manager is hoping it's a figment of my imagination as well!

Sitting using an intermittent mifi signal with minimal credit about to expire so the centrefold will have to follow!

Lol lol nothing like making the bank manager sweat.

This is the only source of getting a regular MH fix now I cannot gaze out of the window at ours. I have to settle for gazing at pictures of everyone else's pride n joy. Boo hoo

Here she is before we left the dealers.

And we've had our first problem!!! :(

Having arrived home on Saturday we put Suzi to bed for the night.

Next morning we went to take a lot of stuff out that we had transfered over from the caravan.

Now don't laugh!  You'll all have done it!

We set the bl**** alarm off.  In simple terms, and remembering it was Sunday morning, we were about as popular as rabies in a guide dog home with the neighbours!  Stop laughing, I can hear you!

The positive though, the alarm \ tracker monitoring place was on the phone in less than 30 seconds asking if everything OK.

Don't think we can complain about that! :)

Looking very swank indeed GN - feel better now I've had my MH fix for the day !!!!

Lol lol that's a quality blunder. Did it a few times with our caravan, the tracker clowns were next to useless though - eventually got a call a matter of hours later !!!

Hey Gravy!

Recognize you from the light side!  Switched over from caravan to motorhome a month or so back and are away on our first trip at the moment.  Are you thinking same?

Passports only required after Thursday (maybe) but never fear I won't have a problem sponsoring your visa application to "heaven"!  No, not the credit card visa ..........! ;)

Hey Alan

Are you back from sunny France yet?

Initially, we were looking at Super Lo Line but as we were looking for the optional half dinette and buying nearly new beggars couldn't be choosers and we ended up with a Hi Line.  Having said that, we're really happy that we did get the Hi Line as it gives a huge amount of storage including the ability to store the bench part of the half dinette when not in use.

Sorry, for delay in response guys but been without internet for last week or so as no signal for 3 on mifi. :(

Anyway, can't sit here blethering to you guys all day as the sun is really trying to break through in D&G! :)
