Motorhome success in West Yorkshire

Recommended Posts

West Yorkshire motorhome manufacturers, Wellhouse Leisure and iH Motorhomes, have both proudly reported record sales following some great new model launches at the 2013 Motorhome & Caravan Show. Both manufacturers have also learned that their new models have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2014 Motorhome Awards in Which Motorhome and MMM magazines, with the results to be announced in December.

Wellhouse Leisure have announced that their new model -  the first UK conversion based on the new Ford Tourneo Custom - will be called the Wellhouse Ford Terrier. Also great for everyday use with its compact size, the Wellhouse Ford Terrier features an elevating roof, kitchen with fridge, sink and cooker, and can seat five people. The Terrier is available from £39,500; high standard spec includes front and rear parking sensors, air conditioning, Bluetooth, heated driver’s seat and rear privacy glass.

According to Wellhouse Leisure's managing director David Elliott: ‘We’ve worked really hard to be the first UK company to launch a campervan conversion on the new Ford, so I’m delighted with the sales of our new Ford Terrier, as well as our other successful campervan, the Hyundai i800 camper, at the show.  This means we can keep the factory in full production, and may even take on an apprentice.

Conversion specialists iH Motorhomes launched a range of innovations at the NEC, including a vivid, lime-green version of its new N-Class range.  The N-Class features a convenient caravan-style door(as opposed to the usual sliding side door), a new GRP rear panel with window and large, motorhome-style ‘garage’ for storage rather than twin rear doors. Arguably the most exciting new model, however, is iH Motorhome’s N630 SL, featuring a side slide-out section to create extra living space.

iH Motorhomes MD Ian Hartley said: ‘Launching so many new models meant our stand was the busiest ever, and we’re delighted that this has translated into record sales at a show, and a bulging order book to keep us extra busy over the coming months.
